Buzzin’ Through the Clouds in Snowdonia
Share
Oi, legends! VoodooFpv here, bringing you the latest adventure from RADICAL FPV. This time, we took on Snowdonia with one goal in mind: chase that elusive cloud inversion. For those who don’t know, a cloud inversion is a rare, magical sight—low-lying clouds covering the valleys with only the highest peaks breaking through. It takes just the right timing, weather, and a bit of luck, but I had a good feeling about this one.
The day started with a solid 40-minute trek up to the first lake. When we got there, it was jaw-dropping—the lake was like glass, perfectly reflecting the mountains around us. It was the kind of view that reminds you why you started FPV in the first place. After soaking it in, we pushed on, climbing another hour up to our main high point. Along the way, the sunrise started casting this unreal yellow glow over Snowdon’s peak, and I knew I had to get the drone up there.
In no time, I whipped out my 8” rig, the beast, and sent it screaming toward the peak, a clean 2.5km away. As it hit the summit, Snowdon looked like it was floating on a sea of clouds, straight out of a fantasy. The fog wrapped around the mountain, and I knew I’d never seen anything like it.
On the way back, I got hit by thick clouds—couldn’t see a thing. I punched it and climbed up above the cloud layer, and suddenly, I was in this unreal world, with a blanket of clouds stretching out like a white ocean below me. Without thinking twice, I dove right through, cutting down fast and tight—the flight of my life, no question about it.
Flying with me were some of the best—pros with precision and rookies with fire—but together, we tore it up. We cut through clouds, skimmed the peaks, and lived moments that are impossible to capture fully, even on the best camera.
That’s what RADICAL FPV is all about—finding the wildest spots, capturing the maddest footage, and pushing the limits. Whether we’re buzzing mountain ranges, abandoned bandos, or hidden valleys, we’re just getting started.
Stay tuned, stay RADICAL, and I’ll see you out there!
